The True Value of Travel Agents

Many people misunderstand what travel agents can actually do for you. Certainly, they quote and book vacations, craft personalized itineraries, and make detailed plans for your trip.   All of this comes at no additional cost compared to booking it yourself.  In addition, if things go wrong or you have questions – who do you turn to for help?

However, what is often not recognized is that travel agents do not get paid unless you book through them. Their compensation is commission-based, which they receive only after you return from your trips.

Consider that Disney vacation, cruise, all-inclusive resort stays, or any other trip you book independently – travel agents could have booked it for the same price. By utilizing their services, you are helping them grow their business without incurring any extra cost to yourself. Extra on-board credit?  Yes, they can give you that as well!  Booking with a travel agent is truly a win-win situation.

The commission cost is already built into the price you pay, regardless of whether you use an agent or not. In essence, you are paying for a service that you might not be using.
